More Funding Award Money has been awarded, including Southern tier projects as well as the Genesee Valley Greenway,

A Funding Award have been awarded for regional trail and recreation development projects, including the Genesee Valley Greenway

The State of New York acquired full fee title to the former lands of the Genesee Valley Canal and Pennsylvania Railroad, Rochester Branch from Rochester Gas and Electric, who had owned the corridor since 1963. The land is located in Livingston, Wyoming, Allegany, and Cattaraugus counties. The Greenway lands located in Monroe County were purchased by New York State in the mid 1980s.
